Steering Angle Sensor: Service and Repair
Installation

BRAKE CONTROL: STEERING ANGLE SENSOR: INSTALLATION

NOTICE:
While the battery is connected, even if the engine switch is off, the brake control system activates when the brake pedal is depressed or
the door courtesy switch turns on. Therefore during servicing of the brake system components, do not operate the brake pedal and
open/close the doors while the battery is connected.

1. INSTALL STEERING ANGLE SENSOR

2. INSTALL SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY   See: Restraint Systems/Air Bag Systems/Clockspring Assembly / Spiral Cable/Service and

Repair/Installation

3. INSTALL STEERING COLUMN COVER (w/o Driver Monitor Camera)   See: Steering and Suspension/Steering/Steering Column/Service and

Repair/Removal and Replacement/Steering Column Assembly (W/ VGRS)/Installation

4. INSTALL STEERING COLUMN COVER (w/ Driver Monitor Camera)   See: Steering and Suspension/Steering/Steering Column/Service and

Repair/Removal and Replacement/Steering Column Assembly (W/ VGRS)/Installation

5. ADJUST SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY   See: Restraint Systems/Air Bag Systems/Clockspring Assembly / Spiral Cable/Service and

6. INSTALL STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY   See: Steering and Suspension/Steering/Steering Wheel/Service and Repair/Removal and

7. INSTALL STEERING PAD   See: Restraint Systems/Air Bag Systems/Air Bag/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Steering

Pad/Installation

8. INSTALL LOWER NO. 2 STEERING WHEEL COVER   See: Restraint Systems/Air Bag Systems/Air Bag/Service and Repair/Removal and

9. INSTALL SWITCH AND VOLUME CASE

10. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL   See: Steering and Suspension/Steering/Steering Column/Service and

11. INSTALL COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH   See: Wiper and Washer Systems/Wiper Motor/Service and Repair/Installation

12. INSPECT STEERING PAD   See: Restraint Systems/Air Bag Systems/Air Bag/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Steering

Pad/Installation

13. CHECK SRS WARNING LIGHT

(a) Check the SRS warning light    See: Restraint Systems/Air Bag Systems/Testing and Inspection/Initial Inspection and Diagnostic

Overview/Diagnosis System.

14. PERFORM INITIALIZATION

(a) Perform initialization    See: Testing and Inspection/Programming and Relearning.

NOTICE:
Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
