The information contained in this TSIB updates AX003-00 dated March 31, 2000. Revised text is shown with asterisk and underlined.

Introduction 
Starting December 1999, the RX 300 came equipped with a new trailer wire harness with a new converter.

A complete kit of the new trailer wire harness will be available as a service part for retrofitting RX 300 vehicles equipped with the previous wire harness.

The intent of this service bulletin is to:

Provide a Parts Description checklist so that the new trailer harness may be identified.

Show the vehicle location map of the new trailer harness and the previous trailer harness for repair, maintenance, and retrofitting of older vehicles
equipped with the previous trailer wire harness.

^

Provide a procedure for replacement of the new trailer harness fuse.

All RX 300 vehicles equipped with Trailer Harness.

This repair is covered under the Lexus Basic Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 48 months or 50,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the
vehicle's In-service date.
