Do not replace the spiral cable with the battery connected and the engine switch on (IG).

Do not rotate the spiral cable with the battery connected and the engine switch on (IG).

Ensure that the steering wheel is installed and aligned straight when inspecting the steering angle sensor.

Do not remove the steering angle sensor from the spiral cable.

6. INSTALL STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY See: Steering and Suspension/Steering/Steering Wheel/Service and Repair/Installation
7. INSPECT STEERING WHEEL CENTER POINT
8. INSTALL STEERING PAD See: Restraint Systems/Air Bag Systems/Air Bag/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Steering

9. INSTALL LOWER NO. 3 STEERING WHEEL COVER See: Restraint Systems/Air Bag Systems/Air Bag/Service and Repair/Removal and

10. INSTALL LOWER NO. 2 STEERING WHEEL COVER See: Restraint Systems/Air Bag Systems/Air Bag/Service and Repair/Removal and

11. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

When reconnecting the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal after installing the steering sensor, check that the front tires and
steering wheel are kept aligned straight ahead before and after connecting the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.

When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected See: Testing and
Inspection/Programming and Relearning/Repair Instruction - Initialization.
