Parking Brake Cable: Service and Repair
Removal

Up to 08/2009

PARKING BRAKE: PARKING BRAKE CABLE: REMOVAL

1. PRECAUTION (w/ Navigation System for HDD)

NOTICE:
After the engine switch is turned off, the display and navigation module display (HDD navigation system) records various types of
memory and settings. As a result, after turning the engine switch off, make sure to wait at least 60 seconds before disconnecting the
cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

2. PRECAUTION (w/ Air Suspension)

NOTICE:
Be sure to read Precaution thoroughly before servicing    See: Steering and Suspension/Suspension/Service Precautions/Suspension
Control System.

3. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE CONTROL PEDAL ASSEMBLY

HINT
Refer to the instructions for Removal of the parking brake pedal    See: Parking Brake Pedal/Service and Repair/Removal and
Replacement/Removal.

4. REMOVE NO. 1 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the adjusting nut.

(b) Remove the clip.

(c) Pull up the parking brake pedal claw and remove the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly.

5. REMOVE NO. 2 PARKING BRAKE SHOE ASSEMBLY WITH PARKING BRAKE SHOE LEVER

6. REMOVE NO. 3 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the 2 bolts and separate the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly from the backing plate.
