Camshaft Position Sensor: Service and Repair
Installation

Up to 08/2009

2GR-FE ENGINE CONTROL: CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR: INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL VVT SENSOR

(a) Install the 4 sensors with the 4 bolts.

Torque : 10 Nm (102 kgf-cm, 7 ft-lbf)

(b) Connect the 4 sensor connectors.

2. INSTALL INTAKE AIR SURGE TANK ASSEMBLY   See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Intake Manifold/Service and

Repair/Installation

3. INSTALL AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY   See: Fuel Delivery and Air Induction/Throttle Body/Service and Repair/Installation

4. INSTALL BATTERY   See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Engine Assembly/Installation

5. INSTALL NO. 1 AIR CLEANER INLET   See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Engine

Assembly/Installation

6. INSTALL NO. 2 AIR CLEANER INLET   See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Engine

7. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected    See: Testing and
Inspection/Programming and Relearning/Repair Instruction - Initialization.

8. ADD ENGINE COOLANT   See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Cooling System/Coolant/Service and Repair

9. INSPECT FOR COOLANT LEAK   See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Cooling System/Testing and Inspection

10. INSPECT FOR OIL LEAK

(a) Start the engine, and check that there are no oil leaks.

11. INSTALL V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY   See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Service and Repair/Removal and

Replacement/Engine Assembly/Installation

12. INSTALL OUTER COWL TOP PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY   See: Brakes and Traction Control/Hydraulic System/Brake Master Cylinder/Service

13. INSTALL FRONT SHOCK ABSORBER CAP (w/ Air Suspension)   See: Steering and Suspension/Suspension/Suspension Strut / Shock
