Ignition Switch: Service and Repair
Removal

2GR-FE STARTING: ENGINE SWITCH: REMOVAL

1. PRECAUTION (w/ Navigation System for HDD)

NOTICE:
After the engine switch is turned off, the display and navigation module display (HDD navigation system) records various types of
memory and settings. As a result, after turning the engine switch off, make sure to wait at least 60 seconds before disconnecting the
cable from the negative (-) battery terminal    See: Accessories and Optional Equipment/Navigation System/Service
Precautions/Navigation System (for HDD).

2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system    See: Restraint
Systems/Air Bag Systems/Service Precautions

NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected    See: Testing and
Inspection/Programming and Relearning/Repair Instruction - Initialization.

3. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH   See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Headliner/Service and Repair/Removal and

4. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM SUB-ASSEMBLY LH   See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Headliner/Service and Repair/Removal

5. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL GARNISH LH   See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Dashboard / Instrument Panel/Service and

6. REMOVE NO. 1 SWITCH HOLE BASE   See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Dashboard / Instrument Panel/Service and

7. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY   See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Dashboard /

8. REMOVE ENGINE SWITCH

(a) Detach the 2 claws and remove the engine switch.

(b) Disconnect the engine switch connector.
