6. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system    See: Restraint
Systems/Air Bag Systems/Service Precautions.

NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected    See: Testing and
Inspection/Programming and Relearning/Repair Instruction - Initialization.

7. REMOVE NO. 2 AIR CLEANER INLET   See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Engine

8. REMOVE NO. 1 AIR CLEANER INLET   See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Engine

Assembly/Removal

9. REMOVE BATTERY   See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Engine Assembly/Removal

10. REMOVE AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY   See: Powertrain Management/Fuel Delivery and Air Induction/Throttle Body/Service and

Repair/Removal

11. REMOVE ECM

(a) Separate the wire harness clamp.

(b) Separate the wire harness clamp.

(c) Disconnect the 2 ECM connectors and remove the ECM with brackets.

(1) Push in the locks on the 2 levers, raise the levers, and disconnect the 2 ECM connectors.

NOTICE:
After disconnecting the connectors, make sure that dirt, water or other foreign matter does not contact the connecting part of the
connectors.

(2) Remove the 3 bolts and the ECM with bracket.

(d) Remove the 5 screws and 2 ECM brackets.
