Rear Cross-Member: Service and Repair
Removal

Up to 08/2009

REAR SUSPENSION: REAR SUSPENSION MEMBER (for 2WD): REMOVAL

1. REMOVE REAR WHEELS

2. DRAIN BRAKE FLUID

3. REMOVE TAIL EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY   See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Exhaust System/Exhaust Pipe/Service and Repair/Removal

4. SEPARATE REAR FLEXIBLE HOSE LH

(a) Using a union nut wrench, disconnect the brake line from the rear flexible hose LH.

NOTICE:
*

Do not bend or damage the brake line.

*

Do not allow any foreign matter such as dirt and dust to enter the brake line.

(b) Remove the clip and separate the rear flexible hose LH.

(c) Remove the bolt and separate the rear flexible hose LH from the rear upper control arm assembly LH.

5. SEPARATE REAR FLEXIBLE HOSE RH

HINT
Perform the same procedure as the LH side.

6. REMOVE REAR SUSPENSION ARM COVER LH   See: Control Arm/Service and Repair/Rear Lower Arm/Removal

7. REMOVE REAR SUSPENSION ARM COVER RH

HINT
Perform the same procedure as the LH side.

8. SEPARATE REAR SPEED SENSOR WIRE LH   See: Brakes and Traction Control/Antilock Brakes / Traction Control Systems/Wheel Speed

Sensor/Service and Repair/Rear Speed Sensor/Removal

9. SEPARATE REAR SPEED SENSOR WIRE RH

HINT
Perform the same procedure as the LH side.

10. REMOVE REAR STABILIZER LINK SUB-ASSEMBLY LH   See: Suspension Spring ( Coil / Leaf )/Service and Repair/Removal

11. REMOVE REAR STABILIZER LINK SUB-ASSEMBLY RH

HINT
Perform the same procedure as the LH side.

12. REMOVE REAR STABILIZER BAR
