16. INSTALL REAR WHEEL
Torque : 103 Nm (1050 kgf-cm, 76 ft-lbf)
17. INSPECT AND ADJUST REAR WHEEL ALIGNMENT
(a) Inspect and adjust the rear wheel alignment See: Alignment/Service and Repair/Rear Wheel Alignment.
18. CHECK FOR SPEED SENSOR SIGNAL
(a) Check for the speed sensor signal See: Brakes and Traction Control/Antilock Brakes / Traction Control Systems/Testing and
Inspection/Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview/Test Mode Procedure.

AXLE AND DIFFERENTIAL: REAR AXLE CARRIER (for 2WD): INSTALLATION

Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

The procedure listed below is for the LH side.
1. INSTALL LOWER CONTROL ARM PIN (for TMC Made)
(a) Hold the rear axle carrier sub-assembly between aluminium plates in a vise.
NOTICE:
Do not overtighten the vise.
(b) Using SST, install a new lower control arm pin to the rear axle carrier sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.

2. TEMPORARILY TIGHTEN REAR AXLE CARRIER SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Hold the rear axle carrier sub-assembly between aluminium plates in a vise.
NOTICE:
Do not overtighten the vise.
(b) Using a brass bar and a hammer, push out the bushing until it is positioned as shown in the illustration.
HINT
Pushing out the bushing makes it easier to install the rear axle carrier sub-assembly.
(c) Temporarily tighten the rear axle carrier sub-assembly to the rear No. 1 suspension arm assembly with the spacer and nut (A).
