APPLICABLE WARRANTY

^ This repair is covered under the Lexus Comprehensive Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 48 months or 50,000 miles, whichever occurs first,

from the vehicle's in-service date.

^ Warranty application is limited to correction of a problem based upon a customer's specific complaint.

Repair Procedure

IMPORTANT

Prior to inspection or service of the High Voltage (HV) battery, remove the HV battery service plug and then wait 10 minutes.

^

Wear properly insulated safety gloves when in proximity to exposed HV components.

1. Has a water leak been identified inside the vehicle?

^

NO - Go to step 3.

^

YES - Go to step 2.

2. Is water entering from the seam above the upper back door strut mounting bracket?

^

NO - Locate source of water leak and correct. Proceed to step 3.

^

YES - Refer to TSIB L-SB-0019-09 "Water Leak at Back Door Hatch" to correct the water leak and then proceed to step 3.

3. Inspect the HV battery area.

Refer to the Technical Information System (TIS) applicable model year RX 400h Repair Manual for instructions on removal of the rear seat HV
battery case and related components:

2006 / 2007 RX 400h:
Engine/Hybrid System - Hybrid/Battery Control System - "P310 Hybrid Battery Control: HV Battery: Removal"

2008 RX 400h:
Power Source/Network - Battery/Charging - "P310 Hybrid Battery Control HV Battery: Removal"

4. If water is found inside the HV battery area inspect the HV Relay Assembly.
