Introduction

The 2006 model year RX 400h hybrid vehicle uses the same part number Towing Receiver Hitch as the RX 330, but the installation process is different.
There are two plastic covers, which are unique to the RX 400h, that must be removed and discarded during the Towing Receiver Hitch installation.
Installation instructions included with the Towing Receiver Hitch kits produced prior to April 1, 2005 will not include the requirement to remove the two
plastic covers. Please refer to the installation instructions that can be found on the Technical Information System (TIS) to complete the installation of the
Towing Receiver Hitch for the 2006 RX 400h.
