Title:
SC 300/400 CD CHANGER SKIPS
MODELS:
SC 400/300
'92-'93 SC 400/300 CD changer's optical mechanism has been modified to improve the following conditions:
1.
CD skips
2.
CD won't, play and displays "Err"
DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE:
Use a known good CD disk for diagnosis.
1)
CD skips / won't play are frequently caused by the condition of the CD disks, or other external factors. Verify that CD skips / won't play are not
caused by any of the following:
-
CD is inserted with the wrong side up.
-
Damaged or dirty CD's (scratches, debris, oil, fingerprints on CD's).
-
Rough road surfaces causing the CD to skip.
-
Objects in the trunk bumping the CD changer (usually on left turns).
2)
After verifying that the CD disks are in good condition, exchange the CD changer. Countermeasured units will have an orange mark inside the CD
changer and next to the serial number on the ID label.
Important:
When exchanging a SC 400/300 Panasonic CD changer, send the CD magazine with the CD changer (only the exchange CD changer for SC 400 /300
will be sent with the CD magazine). Exchange units have been countermeasured starting 9/93.
