1. Remove the two bolts and the J-clip brackets (outboard shown, inboard similar).

2. Drive out the two backrest roll pins and discard them (install two new roll pins for installation). Remove the two backrest bolts. Lift off the

backrest.

Item 30: Cushion Thermal Electric Device (TED) (if equipped) Disassembly Note

1. Remove the screw.

ASSEMBLY

1. NOTE:  Make sure the battery negative cable is still disconnected before continuing with the assembly portion of this procedure.

To assemble, reverse the disassembly procedure.

2. Connect the battery ground cable.
