Replaced parts are subject to random selection for return to the Ford Warranty Parts Analysis Center (WPAG). Refer to your daily PEARS (Parts Entry
and Return System) register for part disposition and return instructions.

Follow the provisions of the Warranty and Policy Manual for "Parts Retention and Return Procedures".

Attachment III - Technical Information

OVERVIEW

This program involves testing and replacing the coil-on-plug assemblies, if needed.

A flow chart has been developed to help direct you to the proper repair. See Figure 1.

STEP 1: CHECK FOR DTCS AND MODE 6 DATA

Connect the Vehicle Communication Module (VCM) to the vehicle and the Integrated Diagnostic System (IDS). Check for DTCs related to
cylinder misfire.

2.

Check Mode 6 data for cylinder misfire data.
