Aviator AWD V8-4.6L DOHC VIN H (2003)
1. Detach the wheel speed sensor harness from the brake hose.
Item 5: Brake Caliper, Pads and Anchor Plate Removal Note
1. CAUTION: Do not allow the brake caliper to hang from the hose or damage to the hose can occur.
Position the caliper, pads and anchor plate aside.
Item 10: Tie-Rod End-to-Wheel Knuckle Nut Removal Note
1. Using the special tool, separate the tie-rod from the wheel knuckle.
Item 11: Lower Ball Joint-to-Wheel Knuckle Nut Removal Note
1. CAUTION: Do not use a prying device or separator fork between the lower arm and the knuckle. Damage to the ball joint or ball joint dust boot
can result.
CAUTION: Do not strike the wheel knuckle with a hammer to separate the ball joint from the wheel knuckle. Damage to the wheel knuckle can
result. Make sure to apply direct force to the end of the hall joint stud when separating the ball joint from the knuckle.
CAUTION: Do not damage the boot when installing a suitable separator.
Using a suitable separator, separate the lower ball joint from the wheel knuckle.
Item 12: Upper Ball Joint-to-Wheel Knuckle Nut Removal Note
1. Using the special tool, separate the upper ball joint from the wheel knuckle.
