Continental V8-281 4.6L DOHC VIN V MFI (1997)
33. Rotate crankshaft clockwise an additional 45°. This will position crankshaft at top dead center (TDC) No. 1 (keyway at 45° BTDC).
34. Install timing chains.
35. After removing all traces of oil, dirt and previously applied sealant from engine front cover, cylinder heads and cylinder block sealing surfaces
replace crankshaft front seal (6700) and install new engine front cover gaskets (6020).
CAUTION: Sealing surfaces must be clean and dry before applying sealant.
NOTE: When cleaning sealing surfaces of the engine front cover and oil pan-to-cylinder block joints, use extreme caution not to damage the
rubber bead of the oil pan gasket. If a leak should occur upon reassembly, remove the oil pan and replace the oil pan gasket.
36. Apply Silicone Gasket and Sealant F6AZ-19562-A or equivalent meeting Ford specification WSE-M4G323-A6 to six places on front of engine.
37. Install crankshaft position sensor pulse wheel.
NOTE: Engine front cover must be rolled into position. Do not slide on oil pan gasket.
