RADIO ANTENNA - AUTOMATIC - INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR SERVICE REPLACEMENT
LINCOLN-MERCURY 1984 CONTINENTAL, MARK VII, LINCOLN TOWN CAR
Installation instructions were left out of the packaging of the automatic antenna service replacement kit. To install a replacement antenna, dealers should
use the following instructions.
1.
Lower the antenna and remove the luggage compartment trim panel.
2.
Disconnect the electrical power connector and the signal lead.
3.
Remove the cap from antenna base (Town Car and Continental only) and remove the top attaching nut.
4.
Remove the screw from the antenna mounting bracket.
5.
Remove antenna by lowering through quarter panel.
6.
Remove existing relay; save relay bracket.
Installation
1.
Install antenna through quarter panel and loosely attach bracket with bolt.
2.
Position the antenna to the fender and install top attaching nut, tightening 6-8 N-m (50-70 in.lbs.). On Town Car and Continental, install trim cap.
3.
Tighten mounting bracket bolt 5-8 N-m (40-70 in.- lbs.).
4.
Attach the power connector to the now empty socket, snap new connector on existing relay bracket and tape the two-way power connector to
prevent rattles.
5.
Attach signal lead.
6.
Check operation of antenna.
7.
Replace luggage compartment trim panel.
