LATCH - DECK LID POWER PULL DOWN PROPER ADJUSTMENT
LINCOLN-MERCURY 1984 MARK VII, CONTINENTAL, LINCOLN TOWN CAR
Power pull down latches that continuously cycle and/or recatch should be adjusted as follows:
Tension Bar Adjustment
The luggage compartment power latch will relatch itself if the pop up distance of the luggage compartment door is inadequate, i.e., the door should have
sufficient finger clearance to assure normal opening cycle, If the door opening is inadequate, the torsion rod tension should be increased in accordance
with instructions shown in the 1984 Car Shop Manual, Volumes "A" and "B", Section 44-41.
NOTE:
Torsion bars must be replaced if the adjustment is already set at the maximum tension notch.
