LINCOLN-MERCURY 1984 LINCOLN, MARK VII AND CONTINENTAL
On some subject vehicles built prior to October 3, 1983 the fuel filler door may contact the quarter panel and chip or scratch the paint when the door is
opened.

This concern can be serviced by replacing the existing rubber bumper with a longer bumper as shown in Figure
10.
If the paint has been chipped it can be touched up with appropriate color Ford touch-up paint or equivalent.
