The studs attaching the front engine mounts to the No. 2 crossmember were 12 mm diameter on 1982-84 model vehicles. However, on 1985 model
vehicles, the stud size was increased to 14 mm. Service replacement mounts will have the larger 14 mm studs. In order to commonize the service
replacement mount for crossmembers with 14 mm or 12 mm holes, the No. 2 crossmember hole will require modification on 1982- 84 model vehicles.
When hole modification is required, use the following procedure. See Figure 4.
ENGINE FRONT SUPPORTS
Removal
1.
Remove the fan shroud attaching screws.
2.
Raise the vehicle on hoist.
3.
Remove the one bolt retaining the flexible coupling to the input shaft.
4.
Support the steering gear and remove the two nuts, insulator washers and bolts retaining the steering gear to the No. 2 crossmember. (Refer to
