Alignment: Service Precautions
Airbag System Disarming and Arming

NOTE:  Prior to disconnecting battery, record pre-set radio frequencies.

DISARMING

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Wait one minute for back-up power supply to deplete.
3. Remove two air bag retaining bolt hole covers from steering wheel spokes.
4. Remove two air bag module retaining bolts, then carefully lift air bag module from steering wheel.
5. Disconnect driver's air bag module connector.
6. Attach Rotunda Air Bag Simulator 105-00011, or equivalent, to air bag terminals on clockspring assembly to simulate air bag.
7. Open glove compartment and rotate downward past stops.
8. Disconnect passenger's air bag module electrical connector.
9. Remove three bolts retaining lower passenger's air bag module mounting bracket to instrument panel through glove compartment opening.

10. Remove passenger's air bag module by pushing module outward from inside instrument panel. Do not grab edges of deployment doors.
11. Attach a second Rotunda 105-00010, or equivalent, to air bag terminals on wiring harness side of passenger's air bag module connector.
12. Connect battery ground cable.

ARMING

1. Disconnect battery ground cable. Allow at least one minute for back-up power supply to deplete.
2. Remove air bag simulator from clockspring connector at top of steering column.
3. Connect driver's air bag electrical connector.
4. Install driver's air bag module to steering wheel.
5. Remove air bag simulator from passenger's air bag connector.
6. Position passenger's air bag module to instrument panel.
7. Through glove compartment opening, install three passenger's air bag module lower mounting bracket to instrument panel bolts. Install the two

forward bolts, then the center bolt.

8. Connect passenger's air bag electrical connector, then close glove compartment.
9. Connect battery ground cable.

10. Place ignition switch in RUN position and note air bag warning lamp operation. Indicator lamp should illuminate for approximately six seconds,

then turn OFF.
