Secondary Air Bypass Solenoid: Description and Operation

PURPOSE

The Secondary Air Bypass Solenoid (AIRB) is used by the PCM to control vacuum to the secondary Air Control Valve (ACV).

OPERATION

The AIRB solenoid is a normally closed solenoid.  The AIRB solenoid also has a filtered vent feature to permit vacuum release.
