Evaporative Fuel Vapor Return Hose: Service and Repair
EVAP Canister
REMOVAL
^
Remove plastic retaining strap that is securing the evaporative emission hose to the vacuum outlet manifold and hose assembly.
^
Disconnect evaporative emission hose from the evaporative emission canister purge valve.
^
Disconnect evaporative emission hose from the crankcase vent connector and hose at connector near the throttle body and remove the
evaporative emission hose from vehicle.
INSTALLATION
^
To install, reverse removal procedures.
LEAK CHECK
^
Perform system leak check as follows:

Disconnect and plug fuel and vapor return tube leading to the evaporative emissions canister at the evaporative emission canister purge
valve.

Plug evaporative emission canister vent tube at the evaporative emissions canister.

Using a leak tester, pressurize the fuel system through the test fuel tank filler cap.

Verify that the pressure within the system does not decay.

If pressure does decay, determine the cause of the leak and repair.

Remove plugs and reconnect fuel and vapor return tube to the evaporative emission canister purge valve. Connect evaporative emission
canister vent tube to the rear floor pan.
