Continental V8-4.6L DOHC (1995)
5. Remove front safety belt retractor and tongue anchor bolt.
6. Remove web front safety belt guide from B-pillar.
7. Remove front safety belt retractor and tongue assembly from vehicle.
INSTALLATION
1. To install, reverse Removal procedure. Be sure to position belts properly.
2. Tighten all retaining bolts to 30-40 Nm (22-30 ft lbs). Cycle system several times to make sure proper operation of front safety belt retractor and
tongue. Make sure the belt is not twisted.
3. For front passenger and all rear positions, fully extract the webbing to make sure the automatic locking retractor mode is operational. Verify the
retractor automatically switches to emergency locking retractor mode once the webbing is fully retracted.
Bench Seat Buckle End
REMOVAL
1. Remove nut from inboard buckle assembly. On driver side, disconnect safety belt warning indicator switch electrical connector and pry locator off
seat.
2. Pull buckle upward to remove from seat.
INSTALLATION
1. To install, reverse Removal procedure. Be sure to position belts properly.
2. Tighten all retaining bolts to 30-40 Nm (22-30 ft lbs). Cycle system several times to make sure proper operation of front safety belt retractor and
tongue. Make sure the belt is not twisted.
Front Seat Shoulder Strap Adjuster
REMOVAL
1. Remove front seat shoulder strap guide cover and D-ring.
2. Lower front seat shoulder strap adjuster by pressing lock mechanism button and pushing downward.
3. Remove front door scuff plate.
4. Remove center body pillar inside upper finish panel.
5. Remove shoulder adjust module cover by pulling both sides of the cover adjacent to the adjust module push button.
6. Back out upper front seat shoulder strap adjuster retaining screw about six turns.
7. Remove lower front seat shoulder strap adjuster retaining screw.
8. Remove upper front seat shoulder strap adjuster retaining screw.
