Impact Sensor: Service and Repair
RH and LH Primary Crash Sensors
FRONT SENSORS AND BRACKETS
REMOVAL
1. Record pre-set radio frequencies for reprogramming following completion of service procedures.
2. Disconnect battery ground cable and wait one minute for backup power supply to deplete its stored energy.
WARNING: The electrical circuit necessary for system deployment is powered directly from the battery. to avoid accidental deployment
and possible personal injury, the battery ground cable must be disconnected prior to servicing or replacing any system components.
3. Remove radiator upper sight shield.
4. Remove three screws retaining radiator support and Grille Opening Panel (GOP) bracket and remove sensor and bracket.
5. Disconnect sensor from wire harness.
6. Remove two retaining screws and sensor from bracket.
INSTALLATION
1. Install RH/LH front primary crash sensor to radiator support and Grille Opening Panel (GOP) bracket with two retaining screws tightened to
10.2-13.8 Nm (90-122 in lbs).
2. Connect sensor to wire harness.
3. Position RH/LH front primary crash sensor and bracket in vehicle and secure with three retaining screws. Tighten screws to 10.2-13.8 Nm (90-122
in lbs).
4. Install radiator upper sight shield.
