Low Clutch

WITH AX4N

DISASSEMBLE 

Low-Intermediate Clutch Cylinder - Disassembled View (AX4N)

1. Remove No. 15 sun gear thrust bearing from rear planet support.
2. Remove low-intermediate clutch retainer washer from rear planet support.
3. Compress low-intermediate clutch support and spring assembly using clutch spring compressor tool No. T65L-77515-A or equivalent. Remove

retaining ring using snap ring pliers.

4. Remove low-intermediate clutch support and spring assembly from rear planet support.
5. Turn rear planet support over and remove No. 16 final drive gear thrust race from rear planet support.
6. Using air nozzle, apply 40 psi of regulated air to low intermediate apply port to remove piston and seal assembly.
7. Using an impact slide hammer, collet tool No. D80L-100-L, and actuator pin tool No. D80L-100-F or equivalents, remove two rear lube oil

transfer tube seals.

8. Inspect rear planet support bushings for wear. Ensure all fluid passages are clear.

ASSEMBLE 

1. Install two new rear lube fluid transfer tube seals using lube tube seal replacer tool No. T94P-77001-GH or equivalent.
2. Install low-intermediate clutch piston and seal assembly to rear planet support using low and intermediate clutch piston protector tool No.

T94P-17001-DH or equivalent.

3. Install low-intermediate clutch support and spring assembly into intermediate clutch assembly, located in rear planet support.
4. Compress low-intermediate clutch support and spring assembly using clutch spring compressor tool No. T65L-77515-A or equivalent. Install

retaining ring.

5. Install No. 15 low/intermediate clutch retainer washer to clutch support and spring assembly.
6. Install No. 15 sun gear thrust bearing to rear planet support using petroleum jelly to hold in place.
7. Turn rear planet support over and install select fit No. 16 final drive gear thrust race to rear planet support, use petroleum jelly to hold thrust race.
