Disassemble the transaxle following the procedure outlined in the appropriate Service Manual until the removal of the final drive assembly and
rear planet support assembly (Figure 2) is complete.

2.

Transfer the low/intermediate clutch piston and return spring assembly and the # 16 thrust washer onto the new rear planet support assembly.

3.

Reassemble the final drive assembly and new rear planet support assembly.

4.

Install the spacer for the new rear planet support onto the case shoulder above the final drive ring (Figures 3 and 4).
