Continental V8-4.6L DOHC (1995)
1.
Obtain a new service part beveled retaining ring, with notches (Figure 2), which has the same thickness as the original beveled retaining ring.
2.
Install the beveled retaining ring using the retaining ring pliers (T95P-77001-AH).
3.
Perform end clearance check for the planetary support. If not within specification, replace the select fit beveled retaining ring to obtain proper
clearance.
NOTE:
END CLEARANCE FOR THE BEVELED RETAINING RING MUST BE PERFORMED WHEN REPLACING THE CASE (-7005-), REAR
PLANET SUPPORT (-7A130-), OR FINAL DRIVE RING GEAR (-7F343-). IF IT IS NECESSARY TO SELECT A DIFFERENT RETAINING
RING FOR THE CORRECT CLEARANCE, IDENTIFY EXISTING SELECT FIT BEVELED RETAINING RING (FIGURE 1).
