Drive Belt Tensioner: Adjustments
1. Locate the tab on the mounting plate of the drive belt tensioner. The tab should be approximately between the stops of the drive belt tensioner arm.

2. Tab in this area, belt length is incorrect. Replace belt.
3. Tab in this area, belt OK.
4. Tab in this area, belt worn or incorrect length. Replace belt.
5. Stop

Perform the drive belt tensioner indicator mark inspection with the engine off at 96,000 km (60,000 mile) intervals.

Automatic drive belt tensioners are spring-loaded devices which set and maintain the drive belt tension.
