Expansion Block/Orifice Tube: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

1. Recover the refrigerant.  See: Service and Repair/Discharging and Recovery
2. Remove the condenser to evaporator tube.

3. Locate the A/C evaporator core orifice.

4. Cut a 63.5 mm (2.5 inches) section from the condenser to evaporator tube.

INSTALLATION

1. Clean the remaining portions of the condenser to evaporator tube.
2. Install the A/C Evaporator Core Orifice Kit.

Lubricate the fittings with Motorcraft YN-12c refrigerant oil or equivalent meeting Ford specification WSH-M1C231-B.

Position the compression nuts and the compression rings on the condenser to evaporator tube.

Install the A/C evaporator core orifice kit.

NOTE:  Make sure the flow direction arrow is pointing toward the evaporator core end of the condenser to evaporator tube.
