Fuel Injector: Service and Repair

REMOVAL 

1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Perform the fuel pressure release procedure.  See: Fuel Filter/Fuel Pressure Release

3. Disconnect engine control sensor wiring from fuel injector.
4. Remove the fuel injection supply manifold.
5. Remove the fuel injectors.

Pull up on injector.

-

Rock side-to-side.

-

Remove the injector.

6. Inspect the fuel injector; replace as required.

INSTALLATION 

1. Follow the removal procedure in reverse order.

CAUTION:  Never use silicone grease. Silicone grease will clog the injectors. Lubricate the O-rings with clean engine oil meeting Ford
specification WSS-M2C153-G.
