Air Flow Meter/Sensor: Service and Repair
REMOVAL
CAUTION: The mass air flow sensor hot wire sensing element and housing are calibrated as a unit and must be repaired as a complete assembly. Do
not damage the sensing element (internal to housing) or possible failure of the Mass Air Flow sensor (MAF sensor) may occur.
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Remove the crankcase ventilation tube and the wire harness from the air cleaner outlet tube.

Disconnect the harness from the Intake Air Temperature sensor (IAT sensor).

Remove the crankcase ventilation tube from the air cleaner outlet tube.
3. Remove the engine Air Cleaner.
4. Separate the engine air cleaner.
5. Remove the cover and the mass air flow sensor.
