Wheel and Tire Replacement

REMOVAL 

1. Loosen the lug nuts.

Remove the wheel cover, if so equipped.

Loosen, but do not remove the lug nuts.

CAUTION:  Do not use heat to loosen a seized lug nut. Heat can damage the wheel and wheel bearings.

2. Raise the vehicle until the tire clears the floor.

CAUTION:  Never use the differential housing as a lift point.

3. Remove the wheel and tire from the vehicle.

Remove the lug nuts.

Remove the wheel and tire.

CAUTION:  Do not use heat to loosen a frozen wheel because heat can shorten the life of the wheel and damage the wheel bearings. If the wheel
cannot be removed by hand, use a wheel puller to remove the frozen wheel.

INSTALLATION 

1. Position the wheel and tire on the vehicle.

WARNING:  When a wheel is installed, always remove any corrosion, dirt or foreign material present on the mounting surfaces of the
wheel or the surface of the wheel hub, brake drum or brake rotor that contacts the wheel. Installing wheels without proper
metal-to-metal contact at the wheel mounting surfaces can cause the lug nuts to loosen and the wheel to come off while the vehicle is in
motion, resulting in loss of control.
