Continental V8-4.6L DOHC VIN V (1998)
1. Install a new driveshaft bearing retainer circlip on the inboard CV joint housing stub shaft.

Start the ends of the driveshaft bearing retainer circlip in the circlip groove and push the circlip into the groove.
CAUTION: DO NOT reuse the circlip. A new driveshaft bearing retainer circlip must be installed each time the inboard CV joint housing is
installed into the transaxle differential. Clean the seal journal before installing. Polish with fine emery paper, if required.
2. Align the splines of the inboard CV joint housing with the splines in the differential side gear and install the front wheel driveshaft and joint.

Push the CV joint housing into the differential until the driveshaft bearing retainer circlip is felt seated in the differential side gear.
NOTE: Use care when installing the front wheel driveshaft and joint to prevent damage to the differential oil seal.
3. Seat the bearing retainer circlip.
NOTE: A non-metallic (rawhide) mallet can be used to aid in seating the circlip into the differential side gear groove. If a mallet is necessary, tap
only on the outboard front wheel driveshaft joint.
4. Carefully align the splines of the outboard front wheel driveshaft joint with the splines in the wheel hub and push the shaft into the wheel hub.
NOTE: Remove the wooden dowel.
