Heated Oxygen Sensor: Service and Repair

EGO Sensor Wrench

SPECIAL SERVICE TOOL(S)

REMOVAL

1. Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to Battery.
2. Raise and support the vehicle. For additional information, refer to Maintenance/Service and Repair.

3. Remove the Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S).

Unclip and disconnect the electrical connector.

Using the special tool, remove the HO2S.

NOTE:  RH shown, LH similar.

INSTALLATION

1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Apply a light coat of High Temperature Nickel Anti-Seize Lubricant F6AZ-9LA94-AA or equivalent meeting Ford specification
ESE-M12A4-A to the threads of the heated oxygen sensors.
