Tester Description and Hookup Description

The EMC (Electronic Message Center) Tester (Fig. 7) connects into the EMC system between the Control Module and the instrument panel harness.

The Tester...
1. Inputs signals to the Control Module to test functioning of the Module and of read-outs on the Instrument Cluster pods.
2. Receives signals from system sensors which are read-out on the DVOM (Fig. 7). These read-outs indicate whether the sensor system is operating

properly.

Tester/DVOM Hookup
1. Make sure ignition key is Off and disconnect vehicle negative cable at the battery.
