Using the following part number information, determine if the catalyst assembly should be replaced.

If the part number is one of the following numbers, do not replace the catalyst assembly.

Prepare an Authorized Modifications Decal (Form-8262-PP) as follows:
Insert your dealer P&A code, "Emissions Recall 91E13," and the date of service. Affix the decal to a clean, flat surface on the fan shroud.
Install the clear overlay over the decal.

If the catalyst is not one ot the part numbers, proceed with the replacement of the catalyst assembly.
Catalytic Converter
Removal
1.
Disconnect downstream injection air hose connect at check valve, if so equipped.
2.
Raise vehicle.
3.
Support muffler with wire.
4.
Remove nuts retaining converter inlet pipe flange to exhaust manifold.
5.
Remove nuts retaining converter outlet flange to muffler.
6.
Remove upper and lower heat shield retaining bolts.
7.
Remove converter.
