Crankshaft Main Bearing Seal: Service and Repair

1. Remove transmission from vehicle. 
2. Remove flexplate assembly.

3. Remove rear oil seal retainer attaching bolts.
4. With oil seal retainer properly supported on a clean work surface, drive seal out of retainer using a suitable punch. 
5. Clean all mating surfaces, then apply a suitable silicone sealer to engine block mating surface.

6. Install seal retainer to engine. Tighten retainer bolts to 71-106 in lb in sequence.
7. Install new seal into retainer using installation tool T82L-6701-A and adapter tool T91P-6701-A, or equivalents. 
8. Reverse procedure to install.
