This article supersedes TSB 8-26-9 to update the Part List.
ISSUE
Some 2009 Lincoln MKS vehicles built on or before 9/8/2008 may exhibit a ticking, clicking, or rubbing noise coming from the steering column trim
while extending or retracting the steering column. The customer may also wish to have the telescopic option turned on for the easy entry / easy exit
feature.
ACTION
Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
1. Follow Workshop Manual, Sections 211-04 and 501-12 to replace the steering column shroud and the instrument cluster finish panel extension.
2. Use the IDS with software revision B58.3 or greater to change the customer preference for the telescopic feature to On to enable it to telescope in
conjunction with the easy entry / exit feature.
