ISSUE
Some 2010 Ford Flex and Lincoln MKT vehicles built from 10/26/2009 to 2/12/2010 and equipped with factory installed dual headrest DVD system,
may experience a continuous rapid relay clicking sound coming from behind the instrument panel glove box. This is due to a concern with the Rear
Entertainment Module (RETM).
ACTION
Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
1. Lower the glove box to gain access to the RETM.
2. Turn the ignition key to the on position.
3. Turn on the rear DVD player.
4. Listen for a rapid clicking noise coming from the RETM.
a. If the noise is not coming from the module do not continue with the procedure, continue with normal diagnostics.
b. If the noise is coming from the RETM, replace the module. Refer to the Workshop Manual, Section 415-00.
