Gearshift Cables (Part 2)

Removal 

1. Remove the heater core and evaporator core housing. For additional information, refer to Heating and Air Conditioning.
2. Remove the battery tray.

3. NOTE:  Carefully disconnect the spring clip, do not damage the spring clip.

Disconnect the gearshift cables from the shift mechanism.

Pull the spring clip out of the groove. Lift upward to rotate the clip 90 degrees.

4. NOTE:  Carefully pry the retainer on the shift cable. Do not damage the shift cable retainers.

Disconnect the gearshift cables from the transaxle bracket.
