Power Steering Pump: Description and Operation
NOTE: Earlier builds have four bolts mounting the power steering pump to the engine block. The fourth lower bolt behind the pulley on earlier
builds may be discarded upon removal of the power steering pump.
The CIII power steering pump has the following features:

It is a belt-driven, vane-type, power steering pump.

It is mounted directly to the engine block by three bolts.

The power steering pump is replaced as an assembly.

The identification tag attached to the power steering pump indicates the model number and bar code. Refer to these when pump replacement is
required.

The power steering pump uses a quick connect fitting for the power steering pressure hose.
^
The power steering fluid reservoir is mounted on the LH side of the engine.
