Throttle Body: Service and Repair
REMOVAL
WARNING: DO NOT SMOKE OR CARRY LIGHTED TOBACCO OR OPEN FLAME OF ANY TYPE WHEN WORKING ON OR NEAR
ANY FUEL-RELATED COMPONENTS. HIGHLY FLAMMABLE MIXTURES ARE ALWAYS PRESENT AND MAY BE IGNITED.
FAILURE TO FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS MAY RESULT IN PERSONAL INJURY.
CAUTION: Throttle body bore and plate area have a special coating and cannot be cleaned.
1. Remove the air cleaner resonator and outlet tube assembly.
2. Remove the three bolts and the engine appearance cover.
3. Disconnect the Throttle Position (TP) sensor electrical connector.
4. Disconnect the accelerator cable , speed control cable , and the return spring.
