Navigator 4WD V8-5.4L SOHC VIN L (1998)
3. Index mark the front driveshaft to the front axle universal joint flange.
4. CAUTION: Do not allow the driveshaft to hang unsupported.
Disconnect the front driveshaft.

Remove the four bolts.

Carefully disconnect the front driveshaft.
5. Use a lb/in torque wrench to measure the torque required to maintain rotation of the pinion and record the measurement for reference during
installation.
6. Mark the front axle universal joint flange and index it to the pinion stem.
7. Loosen the pinion nut.

Position the Companion Flange Holding Tool and install the two companion flange holding tool bolts.
