Safety Recall 91S40 - 1991 Lincoln Town Car Hood Latch
AFFECTED VEHICLES
1991 Lincoln Town Cars built from Job # 1 through April 3, 1991.
REASONS FOR RECALL
The secondary hood latch mechanism may not prevent the hood from opening if the primary latch releases during vehicle operation. Under certain
conditions, the hood could unexpectedly open fully (hood fly-up) and the driver's view of the road, through the windshield, would be substantially
blocked. This could result in an accident or collision.
To correct this condition, dealers are to replace the hood latch assembly.
