Oil Pump: Service and Repair

1.

Remove camshaft covers as outlined under CAMSHAFT COVER.

2.

Remove front cover as outlined under FRONT ENGINE COVER.

3.

Remove oil pan as outlined under OIL PAN.

4.

Remove timing chains as outlined under TIMING CHAINS, GEARS, TENSIONERS & GUIDES.

5.

Remove oil pump attaching bolts, then remove oil pump, Fig. 24.

6.

Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:

a. Align oil pump inner rotor with flat of crankshaft.
b. Torque oil pump attaching bolts to 6.-8.8 ft lbs.
