Front Door Window Regulator: Service and Repair
With Window Down and Inoperable
CAUTION:
When servicing regulator assembly, regulator cable tension must not be altered. Cable tension is preset at production. Improper adjustment may result in
premature regulator failure or erratic operation.
Removal
1. Remove door trim panel and watershield. See: Body and Frame/Doors, Hood and Trunk/Doors
2. Mark inner door panel and drill three holes 12.7mm (0.5 inch) as shown.
CAUTION:
Be careful not to drill through the mechanism behind inner door panel.
3. Remove retaining screws through holes.
4. Remove regulator assembly off mounting bracket through access hole.
CAUTION:
Be careful not to strike or scratch glass.
5. Remove motor assembly from drum housing and cover.
6. Raise glass to full up position by hand and secure with a clamp.
7. Disconnect motor wire from harness.
8. Remove motor drive assembly.
9. Remove regulator.
