Headlamp Switch: Service and Repair
1982---83 MARK VI & 1982---88 TOWN CAR
1.
Disconnect battery ground cable.
2.
Insert a hooked tool into headlight switch knob slot and remove spring tension on knob, then pull off.
3.
Remove steering column lower shroud and lower left hand instrument panel trim bezel.
4.
Remove five headlight switch mounting bracket retaining screws.
5.
Carefully pull switch and bracket from instrument panel and disconnect switch wiring.
6.
On Mark VI models, mark and remove vacuum hoses from switch distributor valve.
7.
Remove locknut and screw retaining switch to switch bracket.
8.
Reverse procedure to install.
