Brake Pedal and Bracket
Removal and Installation
1. Remove the instrument panel close-out panel.

Remove the pushpins.

Turn the lamp counterclockwise.
2. CAUTION: Do not service the brake pedal or brake booster without first removing the speed control deactivator switch. This switch
must be removed with the brake pedal in the at-rest position. Switch plungers must be compressed for the switch to rotate in the bracket.
Attempting to remove the switch when the plunger is extended (during pedal apply) will result in damage to the switch.
Remove the speed control deactivator switch. For additional information, refer to Cruise Control.
3. Remove the booster push rod retaining pin cover.
4. Remove the booster push rod retaining pin.
5. Slide the stoplight switch, the washer, bushing and booster push rod from the brake pedal pin.
6. Remove the brake pedal bracket bolt.

To install, tighten to 30 Nm (22 lb-ft).
7. Detach the adjustable brake pedal drive cable from the brake pedal assembly.
8. Disconnect the stoplight switch harness from the pedal bracket.
