Extension Housing: Service and Repair
Removal
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Raise the vehicle on a hoist.
3. Drain the transmission fluid.
4. NOTE: To maintain the initial driveshaft balance, mark the rear driveshaft yoke and the axle flange so they may be installed in their original
positions.
Remove the driveshaft.

Remove the four bolts.
5. Separate the driveshaft from the transmission.
6. Use a High-Lift Transmission Jack to support the transmission.
